Please check the Hudson Rod, Gun and Archery Club web site calendar for First Shots Classes (sponsored by the National Shooting Sports Foundation, NSSF) and NRA Women on Target classes (sponsored by the National Rifle Association).  Both are Club events.  My involvement in both classes is strictly as a volunteer instructor.  I do highly recommend both classes for new shooters.

First Shots (sponsored by the National Shooting Sports Foundation, NSSF) for all beginning shooters.

In 2020, it is estimated that 6.5 million Americans purchased their first firearm.  The first half of 2021 was also record setting for firearms sales in the United States.  In recognition of these facts, NSSF started the First Shots program to help the new shooters get started in the sports that we enjoy.  This program is open to men and women.

NSSF First Shots is an introductory class for new shooters that focuses on Safety, Marksmanship and Range Etiquette.  It is designed to make the new shooter, and all other shooters on the range, more comfortable with each other.  The fee for First Shots is $50.00 which is payable to the Hudson Rod, Gun and Archery Club on the day of the class.  If you fill out the NSSF short survey after the class, you will receive a $25.00 electronic gift card to your phone that can only be used at the club for anything the club sells.  It can only be used one time so bundle your purchases to get the best value.   To register, please fill out the registration form on this site.  The Date drop down box does not include First Shots classes so put First Shots and date after your name and make sure to hit the send button.  Check the Schedule tab for dates.  We are currently scheduled for one Sunday class per month through July of 2023.

4/29/2023 9:00 a.m. Trap / Skeet meet in the range 1 building

Rifle Pistol meet upstairs.

Bring a lunch and be prepared for a Fun Learning experience!

Fee is $50.00 payable to Hudson Rod, Gun and Archery Club on 4/26/2023 (checks preferred) and includes safety booklets, eye and ear protection, firearms use, targets and all ammunition and instruction.
